Requirements

  • FAA commercial pilot certificate and flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings
  • 1500 total flight hours as pilot-in-command or second-in-command
  • 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time
  • Experience instructing students in instrument flight training
  • 75 hours night flying
  • 500 hours instructor time
  • Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in the UH-72
  • Teach, coach, and mentor student pilots through intensive training
  • Conduct hands-on flight training in the National Airspace System
  • Deliver classroom academic instruction
  • Instruct students in instrument flight training
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of rotary wing flight training
  • Operate over 40,000 square miles encompassing diverse airspace
